Physical Education
Physical Education Classes
The elementary physical education program emphasizes physical fitness activities, including health related concepts, skill development, participation and fun. Movement skills, body awareness, social skills, and perceptual motor development are other parts of the program.

Jump Rope Team
The Mount Hope Elementary School rope skipping team, the SHOW-ME JUMPERS, has been a demonstration team for the American Heart Association's Jump Rope For Heart program for many years. The group's purpose is to demonstrate the fun and health benefits of skipping rope, and to promote Jump Rope For Heart, a student exercise event. The team generates a great deal of enthusiasm for jump rope throughout the eastern part of Missouri at school assemblies, teacher workshops, civic groups, festivals and conventions.

Jump Rope For Heart
Approximately 275 Mount Hope Elementary students participate in the Jump Rope For Heart program this year to benefit the American Heart Association, Missouri Affiliate. Approximately $7,000.00 was raised for heart research and heart healthy educational programs. Mount Hope has participated in the program since 1981, raising over $120,000.

Mount Hope Field Day
An old fashioned "Field Day" is held during the month of May. Field day is an exciting time for all students. Events such as the ball pass relay, tug of war, races, and station activities make up the day. All students end the day with a ribbon and a certificate of participation. It is a positive day for all!
