Our annual Pumpkin Decorating Contest is officially underway, and the results are absolutely SPECTACULAR! This year, students got creative and dressed up their pumpkins as their favorite book characters! You'll find everything from famous pigs to beloved Disney characters to classic heroes.

VOTE: Cast your vote for your favorite book-character pumpkin by donating coins or cash in the jar next to it.
WHY VOTE: Every dollar (or dime!) goes directly towards supporting our school and library programs!

The student whose pumpkin receives the most votes (and therefore, the most donations) will win an amazing prize: a $50 Gift Card to the Scholastic Book Fair! What a perfect way to celebrate reading!

Recently, our amazing teachers came together for a development session, collaborating and diving deep into our exciting new curriculum. Their dedication and teamwork were inspiring!
Superintendent Dr. St. Pierre stopped by MHE to chat with our 2nd grade students about what they were learning.
While there , he also presented Mrs. Stephens the Triple E Impact Award. This award is presented each month to recognize a staff member in every building who exemplifies our district mission to Educate, Empower, and Equip to Excel.

Kindergarten students fed their monster the most candy that will be used to support Trunk or Treat.
Being the top earners, kindergarten students have earned extra recess!

These lucky winners earned a chance to enjoy a delicious lunch and chat with our wonderful principals. It's always a highlight of their day, and ours too!

Take a look at some highlights from the past week!
Students work hands-on to build sentences as they learn about nouns, verbs, and adjectives.
Students are digging into their leadership portfolios, setting and tracking goals, and self-assessing to determine areas they want to grow in.
Kindergarten has been learning about nursery rhymes today as Mrs Parton's class reviewed the rhymes, they acted them out as well by being nimble and jumping over the candlestick.
Kindergarten students in art are learning to mix colors to create new ones

To end the week, we wanted to share some highlights from our first Husky Celebrations Assembly of the year that we had on Wednesday.
Students celebrated their Husky High-Fives they may have gotten over the past month, and received awards for being the leader of the month in their classroom or special class.


In honor of the 5th grade's ELA curriculum's first unit covering Personal Narratives, the 5th graders participated in WEAR-IT and SHARE-IT on Wednesday.
This means that they will wear a shirt, jersey, hat, accessory, etc., that tells a story about them

We hope you had as much fun as we did!
We have Donuts with Dudes coming up on Wednesday, September 19th from 8:00-8:45 for grades Kindergarten, 2nd, and 4th.
A flyer was sent home. Please make sure you fill it out and send in your money to be apart of this special event!
We will also have a STEAM activities going on during this event that you can participate in with your dad, grandpa, uncle, or another special person in your child's life!

Last week, Mrs. Radosevich's class got to celebrate with our resident alien ! The whole class earned a Husky High Five because their leadership was out of this world!

1) Ridley bringing his classmate birthday gifts. So kind of him to share a gift since we no longer bring snacks to school to share.
2) Scarlet writing a letter about why she is LOVING 2nd grade!
