Where is the construction?
This aerial image shows work on the east side of the building, in front of the existing entrance and replacing the existing two-story wing.
What is the project?
New Addition & Renovation in front of the existing Sonderen entrance and replacement of existing two-story wing. The new construction will consist of approximately 34,500 additional square feet and renovations affecting approximately 33,000 square feet. The first floor of the New two-story classroom wing functions as a storm shelter that will house the entire school population during inclement weather.
Preliminary site work at entrances, bus lane, and vehicle routes was completed the summer of 2023.
Construction of New Main Entrance, Library, Family and Consumer Sciences (FACS) classrooms and two-story wing is anticipated to be completed by Dec. 2024

Cafeteria addition/renovation, renovation of the existing library for Counseling and Special Education is anticipated to be completed by August 2025. Below is a rendering of the new two-story wing at North Middle School, which also functions as a storm shelter.
How is this being paid for?
North Middle additions are funded thanks to voter approval of FZ Prop 4 in 2022. FZ Prop 4 is a $125-million no-tax increase bond issue to address facilities needs regarding Health, Safety, Growth and Opportunity for our students and staff.
