As they wrapped up the school year, 6th and 7th graders at North Middle signed a beam that will be placed in the new addition while they are on summer break. They will see big changes when they return in August. You can learn more on the North Middle website. The two-story addition is scheduled to be complete by December.
Welcome to the last week of the 2023-2024 school year! Important things for families to do this week:
Check for and pay fines and fees in the parent portal. (Did you know the district currently has more than $80,000 in outstanding meal account payments?)
Pick up any prescription medications from the clinic.
Remember sunscreen and water if your student(s) celebrate Field Day.
Pack a disposable lunch bag if your student(s) pack lunch on the last day.
Schedule your student(s) to get their vaccinations updated if they will be in Kindergarten, 8th or 12th grade next fall so they are ready to return in August.
Watch your email inbox for important updates this summer.
Plan your summer reading list!
Begin with the end in mind! As seniors who used to walk the MHE halls came back for one final walk through, our students were not only able to celebrate them, but also begin setting goals toward their own graduation one day.
We had a royally good time celebrating Q - Queen day yesterday! Many kindergarteners, and even a few older students, came to school ready to rule the kingdom!
The annual FZ Art Show is open 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. at the Professional Development Center today and tomorrow, and from 9 a.m. - Noon on Friday.
It is P - "p" - Pirate Day in Kindergarten and our youngest Huskies did not disappoint! Arghh Matey!
Mount Hope's art show was another huge success! Classical music played through the intercom as students and their families enjoyed the work created by our very own Huskies! Students enjoyed pointing out their work to their friends and families as much as they did becoming part of the work with the photo opportunities around the building. Thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate our artists, and Mrs. Frank for her guidance in helping students create the work as well as setting up the displays!
Record Breaking Recorder Player! Connor is the first student in THREE YEARS to earn his black belt on the Recorder Belt Challenge. His classmates' cheers could be heard throughout the hall in support of his milestone!
April showers bring MAY FLOWERS! During Staff Appreciation Week, Staff members here at MHE were treated to a flower bar where they could choose a vase and fill it with flowers of their choosing to create their own fresh flower bouquet!
⚠️ Due to the forecast of severe weather, all afterschool and evening events will be canceled today, May 8, 2024, in the Fort Zumwalt School District.
Students in Mrs. Stephens' 2nd grade class went on a shopping spree while learning about economics! Students created their own items to "sell" and set up shop around the classroom. They then shopped for their favorite items and kept up with their remaining balance to make sure they didn't overspend!
At MHE, we're getting through the April Showers with a little fun! This month staff members are on the hunt for paper umbrellas hidden around the building. Each umbrella lists one half of an iconic duo. Once the staff finds their partner, they take a fun picture and earn a small prize.
We love muffins yes do! We love muffins, how about you? Thank you to everyone who came to the Muffins with Mom event put on by the PTC this morning! It was our biggest turnout yet!!
Challenge accepted! First graders were challenged to complete a code with a missing action to allow their robot to successfully complete the path. Miss Smith wrote a grant to buy these robots for Mount Hope and they are bringing lots of joy and genius to Tech Class!
We may be biased, but we're pretty sure we have the best volunteers there are! It was an absolute honor and joy to celebrate the amazing family and community members who volunteer their time, money, and energy to continuously support Mount Hope. Once again, THANK YOU for all you do for us!
The rain held off long enough for fourth graders to have a fun field trip at Big Joel's Safari! Students came back sharing that it was the best day ever!!
We have some promising engineers among us! Mount Hope made an impressive showing at the STEAM competition last night. Congratulations to 4th grades Jack Stage and Brock Reis who took home 2nd place medals for the toothpick arch and 5th grades Weston Snarr, Reid Hinton, and Connor Blust who were the champions in the catapult challenge with an 83 inch launch!
